Competition

Cronulla Surf Club has a proud tradition in surf sports dating back to our formation in 1907. During our rich history Cronulla has produced many State, National and World Champions. In addition Cronulla has won many State, National and World Championship pointscores.

Surf Sports competition is an exciting part of being involved in any surf club, and one aspect that attracts and keeps many members involved in surf lifesaving. Not only is it adrenaline pumping fun, surf sports aims to prepare lifesavers for their role in saving lives, enhancing fitness and skills relevant to saving lives.

A description of the many competitive disciplines is provided on this website – see Competitive Sections. For a complete understanding of the rules and regulations of most events, refer to the SLSA Surf Sports Manual. The printed version is available to view or purchase through the Club Office (not very expensive to buy). You can also download the latest edition of the manual by visiting SLSA’s member portal.
